  1. Hi, I have recently graduated from my uni 2 months ago, I have already received a job offer. However, I will only receive my official transcript in June. So I got the school to issue me a letter stating that I have already complete my degree. My questions is, if I have a diploma from SIM and just a completion letter for my uni degree, can I still qualify for the S pass?

    1. Hi James,

Have a degree or diploma meets the requirement on the academic qualification for an S Pass in Singapore according to MOM’s Eligibility for S Pass.

In order to support you have already completed your degree, apart from the letter of completion, you might also include all your unofficial transcripts of the degree program.

    1. Hi Pradeep Mahesh,

The type of visa you are applying is depending on your main purpose of coming to Singapore. If you are here for work, you can apply for S Pass and do part-time studies in your free time. If you are here for studies, you should apply for a student’s pass instead.

The S Pass will be applied by either the employer or the authorized agency, not the visa applicants.

  2. Hi

My partner will be completing her Masters course end of september from SIM Global. What is the best approach to find a job. As SIM Global is not in the approved list of high learning. Should my partner start looking for jobs before completing her course. But then she will be unable to indicate she has completed her masters. If after, there is only 30-90 days time of short term visit pass granted. Or is it a good idea to apply online when she goes back to her home country. Thank you!

    1. Hi weeeelium,

Foreigners must have a valid work pass to work full-time in Singapore if they are not Permanent Residents in Singapore.

Upon completion of the courses, your partner is able to request a letter of completion from SIM, companies should be able to proceed with work pass applications with the letter of completion with other necessary supporting documents (such as her completed academic transcript and her current highest qualification).

She can look for jobs no matter she is in or out of Singapore.

  3. I am completing my studies in an IHL, and waiting for final results and graduation. My student pass is still valid for a few months. I have got a job offer, but the company wanted me to start asap. Can I work full time while waiting for the letter of completion to be issued from school, then the company use it to proceed with work pass application before my student pass expires?

  4. Hello , i am a degree holder i want to come to singapore for 6 month certificate course in student visa . I can attend interview and job offers only after i completed my course then if i get a job i can get S pass , right? Ok well .. Similarly Can i search for full time jobs while studying that course and if i get the job , can i get S pass and cancel that student pass? Please reply …

    1. Hi Sri,

Besides your educational background, S pass also has fixed monthly salary, quota and levy requirements etc. as well.
You can ask your employer to apply S pass for you if you have been offered a job by them. You can attend interviews and accept job offers after you completed your course, and you can search for full-time jobs while studying, and if you got your S pass approved you can ask your education provider to cancel your student’s pass?

  5. Hi, Ms Joyce

Is it possible to find jobs whilst holding a student pass? My student pass is valid till December and hopefully someone will offer a job for me before the expiration of my pass. The second question is, do I need to exit the country? so that I can apply for a work visa? Although my course will end in the first week of October, technically I have already done all my coursework for my degree.

Due to the pandemic I’ve been overseas when my student pass got cancelled and couldn’t attain a 30days social visit pass to proceed with my application for a LTVP. May I know whether I am eligible to enter Singapore now and apply for the LTVP after being graduated for 5months? If yes can you kindly familiarise me with the procedure?
